Day 21 - Goodbye

This is a very tough day. Sadly, many goodbyes are ahead of us, and no one is looking forward to the flights home.

We start the day with a trip to the local Friday market for mangoes and pineapples. We first walk up to the main road, and board one of the many white minivans that operate as taxi/buses. A ride anywhere in the Entebbe area is about forty cents. They pack 14 riders, and a driver and conductor, into the van. The conductor handles all the money, and leans out the window looking for clients. We stand out, and cause a bit of a stir at the market. In a case of bad timing, a man tries to steal an apple, and when chased, throws the apple back, hitting Nadine in the lower back. He yelled an apology. She ended up with quite a large bruise. We found our produce and headed back.

Sadly, I can't remember this lady's name, so I'll update later.

Buying some local art - we bought it all.

We had promised the big boys another swim in the pool, because some didn't get here the first time. A loud game of beach ball keep up broke out between Richard, Oyo, Jeff and Matt. Water flew everywhere, along with some foam pool toys! They were laughing so hard, I think they had tears in their eyes! Kevin finally made it back from the airport and jumped in too. Jeff taught him to float on his back.

We then headed to the big kid's dorms. Unfortunately some of the older kids were not home yet.

Geoffrey took the next six pictures - his technique kept improving!

At 10pm we packed up two vehicles, and with Victoria and Kevin, we headed to the airport.

We had two long flights to think about the last two or three weeks. The trip was a great experience. But so much more needs to be done.......

With that, I hand the blog reigns back to Alan, and say thanks for the opportunity. It has been a pleasure to have been involved.
