This is my third attempt, in the last 36 hours, to get this blog to upload. I will never complain about web speed in Canada again! Hopefully this goes this time!
As mentioned yesterday, we planned a slow day for today.
Originally the boys were going to do construction but both sites were at a
point at which we could offer little help. We visited the clinic to check on
the new ceiling upstairs. They had already built the wooden joints, stapled on
the metal screening and filled the voids with cement. The next step is to
plaster the ceiling surface but this would have to wait for the cement to dry
(several days). We met up with Brashir and Ronald and they gave us a ride to
the big kid’s dorms. At this site they are still building the support structure
for the second floor and I don’t think they trust us to help – good choice! We
paid a quick visit to the church (we call it the ‘cult’) next to the dorms.
They were not happy to see us. Their followers were busy praying to some rocks
and a plant that looks like a corn stock. We had a short awkward conversation
and left. Pictures not allowed.

The girls had gone to the little kid’s dorms so the kid’s
could blow bubbles – always a big hit! Sanyu hammed it up and enjoyed catching
the bubbles. Don later fell asleep after Susan carried him for a while.

We all headed back for lunch and Ronald joined us. We had a
beverage by the pool and then headed to the big kids dorms. Matt and Jeff made
many, many paper and balsa wood airplanes for the kids. The other objective was
to make a list and take pictures of the kids who are not sponsored.
