Day 16 - Splish Splash 2

Day 16 started with a trip to church. Their church is across the road from the little kid's dorm, and consists of a brick building with steel roof and dirt floor. It's missing a couple of windows, but its mostly 'open air' concept anyway. The kids sing songs (beautifully) and there is a somewhat crude sermon that follows. We arrived late but we were thanked in the messages anyway (we also sneaked out early as mass went way past lunch!).

Olivia and Gloria singing.

Everyone is to attend - even Don (who had a somewhat obstructed view!).

Victoria addresses the children.

After lunch we had the next wave of swimmers at Banana Village. Unlike the little ones, there was little hesitation. The smaller girls (11) went into the small pool, assisted by Jeff and Jackie. And the bigger girls went in to the big pool (mostly unassisted!)

Probably Olivia....probably.
The big girls in the big pool assisted by Laura and Pauline with Nadine watching.
Sara took some pics - still working on her technique....

When the boys arrived they barely made it into the pool area, when they started throwing off clothes so they could jump in. There was a lot of waves during this session.

The boys have arrived!

Unknown!

Unknown again, but again its the boys!

The big boys were a little more reserved. Some had swam before but Richard had never been in the water (and never planned to be). It took some coaxing but he finally came in. A big mouthful of water did slow his progress though. When leaving he told us this was more fun than the zoo and he would do it again.

Showing off their techniques.

Henry braving the deep end of the pool.

The big boys were finally exhausted and headed home.

Tomorrow - Kampala.
