BKU party

We are all kinda slow moving in the morning, and decide to walk over to the BKU dormitory site. The wall has been completed at the back of the property, which requires us to hike the long way around in the heat. A comical local man joins us for the walk, providing some humorous quips.
The property appears to be abandoned, as we find the gate locked and nobody answering our shouts. We then march to the BKU church to catch the end of services and exchange joyful greetings with the children and Victoria.

Afterwards, it's off to the BKU main property where we assemble on the front yard for speeches, singing, dancing and a feast including chicken, beef, rice, potatoes, matoke, vegetables, fruit, cake and ice cream. The kids are in heaven, and all of the Canadian visitors are thrilled at reuniting with Victoria and the children.
We're amazed how baby Praise looks the same, only larger

enough with the darned speeches - let's eat!

Later that night, Carly takes us to a pork joint eatery on the side of the Entebbe - Kampala highway that she frequented during her prior stay. We find a large open pit fire with skewers of pork sizzling. We order one or two skewers each and thoroughly enjoy the simple meal devoid of sauce or accompaniment. The boda boda ride back to Banana Village is uneventful, and we plan for an early start tomorrow.
